Teak - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yIJtVILqKqs
Now what if we could get multiple carbon credits for the net cooling impact of reforesting causing cloud formation combined with the long term sequestration of carbon in an environment where local people are incented to keep the forest healthy and productive?

Working on fine tuning all of the weforest internet presence added the facebook widget and happy to see the number of fans we have there is growing.
Just a reminder to everyone to use #weforest when talking about weforest on twitter. I am hoping for some good news regarding getting one of my favorite celebrities to do a voice over for our video.
Preparing too for the visit to Copenhagen working out who to see and when is proving to be a huge challenge as I hear there will be 20,000 people vis...

After spending all day talking with various partners some of our strategies are becoming more integrated.
I am particularly excited by the concept of combining a type of talk back radio show using frontlinesms as the "Talk" back mechanism a so called SMS-Back radio show where education on local permaculture forestry and entrepreneurialism can be provided.
Also exciting is the idea of student microcredit adn micro finance to create a sustainable interface between the Internet world and the tree...

Amazingly both our social network provider socialgo and our photo forum provider Flickr have gone down in the past 24 hours. As well Twitter has been over capacity several times as well.
Fortunately socialgo have come back up and all our data is safe and our main web site never went down so the disruption is minimal.
We are now waiting to see Flickr come back up (Flickr being owned by Yahoo we are confident it will be ok)
We just added a collaborative mind map to our blog page to encourage peop...

Replanting a Rainforest and that they will be posting continuous progress updates on our
discussion forum with their progress in replanting 24+ Square kilometers of Brazilian rainforest in a sustainable way.
This is just the first of many partnerships and initiatives that will be supported by weforest.com to help move forward the global agenda of reforestation.

So we have founded a new Flickr WeForest group and to start with it is an artistic celebration of forests and tree.
In the future though there is amazing potential as the group has a map where you can place your photos (or if there are geo-tagged they will be placed automatically)
This means that anyone with a digital camera or a smartphone can help us survey the worlds for... Continue reading ...

Right now we are focussed on getting more partners and on building awareness. At the same time we are working on a small social network so that we can build the team and host discussions.
We are also looking to see if we can integrate a project management tool into weforest.com
Matthias has doen a survey and found that of all the names we have for the effort WeForest is the most liked and so WeForest will continue to be the umbrella organization for all the reforestation efforts we create and ... Continue reading ...

In order to spend the least amount of money on IT and infrastructure we have decided to use whatever free and low cost tools for our web presence that the internet can provide we will shortly be adding a social networking feature as well and are looking for suggestions as to the best generic tool to use. (we are currently looking at Ning and Social Go)
We are also looking for a low cost generic mobile platform so people can report on reforestation efforts on the ground easily and cheaply world... Continue reading ...

As we just launched at TEDx Notting Hill with Daniel Priestly we are in the process of doing several things
- Building up this site so that it is a simple social network to support global reforestation.
- Building a climate change game.
- Researching every possible reforestation resource and NGO so you can support someone locally.
- Finishing both a viral video (Shown in Rough cut at TEDx Notting Hill and Africa Gathering London).
- Finding and evaluating sponsors and partners.
